A$AP Rocky

New York rapper A$AP Rocky just had his fate sealed. New reports claim the hip-hop star has been found guilty of assault from a June incident in Sweden.

According to reports, the verdict went down Wednesday in Stockholm.

A$AP Rocky has been convicted of assault in Sweden and given suspended sentence. A$AP Rocky was not present in the Stockholm courtroom. The American rapper had been arrested and jailed following a confrontation with 19-year-old Mustafa Jafari in Stockholm on June 30. He and two companions were held by authorities for several weeks until arguments in their assault trial wrapped up Aug. 2, at which point they were released pending the verdict. (Variety)

In early August, footage emerged of A$AP Rocky hanging out at Kanye West‘s weekly Sunday Service event in California following a publicized release from a Sweden jail.

The rapper, who was released this weekend after spending a month in Swedish custody, was spotted attending the Sunday Service event organized by West and put on each week in California. Video clips shared to social media show A$AP Rocky, 30, chatting and laughing with A$AP Ferg, 30,  and West’s sister-in-law Kendall Jenner, 23, to whom he was briefly romantically linked in 2017. According to reports, Rocky didn’t intend on going back to Sweden once his publicized assault case wrapped up.

Sources also told TMZ that Rocky’s camp was confident he and his co-defendants will receive a not guilty verdict, as they were given the green light to go back home. If he’s ultimately let off the hook, he has no intentions of ever going back to the country, according to insiders. (Complex)

Despite awaiting the huge verdict, Rocky was reportedly not required to show up in Sweden.

Testimony in the rapper’s trial concluded Friday with the judge announcing that a verdict and sentencing will be handed down on Aug. 14. His legal team said the rapper will not be required to return to Sweden for the verdict. The rapper touched down at Los Angeles International Airport just before midnight local time, emerging from the plane with a group of about a half dozen other people. He was greeted by hugs in a nearby parking lot as he got into a waiting vehicle. (ABC News)
